Advanta Software releases Advanta Local Freight

Advanta Software today announced the release of a Local Freight module to augment its successful suite of Logistics applications.

The development is a further step in extending Advanta’s Logistics product range to encompass transport and freight functionality.

Advanta Local Freight provides the following: -

  • The ability to estimate the local freight cost and update the sales order with this cost or optionally apply a margin
  • Upon receipt of the carriers invoice the data will be automatically reviewed for accuracy against the calculated estimate
  • Printing of labels and consignment notes
  • Production of manifests in paper or electronic form. This opens the way for electronic trading with carriers.

Advanta Software has designed flexibility into the module so that it can cater for rates and charging zones for each carrier. Additionally multiple pricing options accommodate the format of popular freight contracts.

Advanta’s Sales Manager for Logistics Systems, Steve Nelson, cited among the benefits “significant savings in the manual effort to produce manifests, labels and consignment notes. There is also an improvement in the company’s cash flow achieved by billing the freight charges prior to receiving the carriers invoice”.

Advanta Software sees the Local Freight Module as suitable for any company that wants to automate their trading with their carriers and wishes to remain carrier independent.

Advanta Local Freight was one of several highlights at the recent Advanta User Day for Contract Warehousing clients. Steve Nelson commented that he “was pleased with the reception given to the module during the User Day and can now report that several clients are in the process of implementing it, with the prospects of many more companies using it through their contract warehousing provider over the next 12 months.”
