PRESS RELEASE - 19 February 2003Kirin Direct Marketing implements BILS Logistics SuiteAdvanta Software announced today that Kirin Direct Marketing, one of Australia’s leading Direct Marketing service providers specialising in continuity has selected the BILS Logistics Suite to automate its new pick ‘n pack catalogue fulfilment service. Kirin Direct Marketing has over the past 35 years secured its position in the Australasian Direct Marketing Service industry by leveraging technology to provide exceptionally effective services. Kirin’s “One-Stop-Shop Service” is recognised internationally for their expertise in subscriptions, series, drop-ships, load-up and one-shots. These services are complemented by continuity direct marketing consultancy, campaign implementation advice and post campaign analysis. With an eye to the future Kirin’s Chief Executive, Rainer Krause, decided to apply their expertise to fulfilment, but recognised that they required supporting technology. “We required a solution which could combine effective warehousing with the needs of direct marketers,” said Rainer, “plus gives us the opportunity to expand our services quickly according to the market developments of our clients.” So when Kirin Direct Marketing examined the software market they took into account the technical structure of the programme - it needed to be based on individual modules, to expand when necessary –, the effectiveness of the supplying company and last but not least the accuracy of the client billing. "Advanta Software was selected”, said Rainer Krause, “because of proven warehousing and client billing solutions in combination with the flexibility to incorporate the changing environment of direct marketing.” Kirin Direct Marketing made the implementation of the BILS Logistics Suite a priority. They have rolled out Debtors, Stock, Order and Payment Processing, Sales Analysis, Warehouse Management, Client Billing and the Report Generator. “We expected to operate with a full solution within 4 months of committing to Advanta Software,” commented Rainer, “then we can add CRM, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. Both our implementation teams completed the challenge within 13 weeks.” What benefit does Kirin Direct Marketing expect from this investment in IT? According to Rainer Krause, “by modifying the software for direct marketing needs Advanta Software has provided Kirin with the ability to open a one-stop-shop for their clients with catalogue based pick & pack businesses.”
