With experience stretching over 40 years, Cosco today manages 300 subsidiaries and 500 vessels world wide. Cosco's logistics subsidiary, Cosco Oceania Logistics, specialises in ocean and air cargo forwarding. With rapid expansion in Australia, it has been enhancing its range of Logistics services to include; customs clearance, quarantine, storage, distribution etc. Since its inception, Cosco has been aware that top quality customer service cannot be achieved without efficient management systems supported by advanced technology. To address this need, Cosco Oceania Logistics entered the market to find a “technology partner who could provide a Logistics software solution to meet their current and future needs and to be able to provide effective on-going support and enhancement of the system.” One of the key requirements was to ensure that the product had local support and would be “here for the long term”. Advanta Software was selected because of the “flexibility of the product and reliability of the support”, commented an executive of Cosco. He continued by saying that “We expect the installation of Advanta’s software will enable improvement in efficiency and potentially gain an edge on our competition. Advanta’s Contract Warehousing solution enables transactions for receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, despatch, stock movements, stock-takes and allowing control of all operations in the warehouse. In addition, this software will minimise costs for Cosco by maximising storage utilisation, thus achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Advanta's Contract Warehousing solution will allow us to deliver improved customer service and reduce our costs”.
