Advanta releases ATLAS

Advanta Software, specialist solutions provider to the Logistics and 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) markets, has released ATLAS (Advanta Total Logistics Application Suite), the next generation of Advanta’s logistics software. ATLAS is the culmination of work over 18 months and represents the integration of a number of R&D projects. ATLAS replaces the BILS product suite marketed by Advanta for the past decade.

ATLAS is the result of a user–centric review of the entire BILS suite, and has led to the development of new levels of functionality & integration, e-connectivity and ease of use.

Comprehensive logistics functionality

ATLAS builds on the extensive functionality presented by previous generations of Advanta software, by building full integration bridges between all its constituent modules and further broadening the functionality.

ATLAS now comprises over 30 modules designed to manage all facets of distribution, freight management, warehouse management, contract warehousing, order processing, inventory and supply chain management, vendor management, sales analysis and efulfilment. ATLAS' modular design allows users to implement only what they need now and to add to it over time as more functionality is needed.

Greater connectivity via the power of the Internet

In ATLAS a number of separate eLogistics modules from the earlier BILS software are now available through a single login to the client portal.

The eLogistics suite now provides a fully integrated set of internet applications including a web ordering, web enquiries on stock, product, orders, proof of delivery, as well as access to online document archives. It also provides templates for client portal, intranet and extranet web-sites, allowing organizations to quickly develop and enhance their own on-line presence. ATLAS eLogistics provides full multi-level security based on the rights of the user.

A further major connectivity enhancement is the introduction of ATLAS Explorer™, an intelligent browser which provides remote internet based anytime, anywhere, access to the entire ATLAS suite. Users, who may be internal employees or external customers or suppliers, can be distributed around the globe and gain instant real-time access to all system data.

Ease of use

ATLAS has brought further refinement to Advanta’s logistics suite. Atlas is easier to learn, easier to implement and easier to use than previous versions. This has been achieved by the introduction of ATLAS Explorer™, which provides a graphical user interface for access to all ATLAS functions, and through a systematic review of every screen in the entire suite. The review focused on intuitive naming and placement of data, and ensuring that only appropriate information is presented when it is needed. The result is an aesthetically pleasing, simple, yet functionally rich logistics suite.

ATLAS is the basis of all client installations after July 2005, including the recent sales to Caltex and Tyco Electronics, and will be systematically rolled out to existing clients through an update program.

ATLAS is flexible. It has been designed to meet the varied needs of a wide range of organisations using simple configuration options and modularity. Advanta also provides customisation for needs that cannot be satisfied by configuration.
