PRESS RELEASE - 7th May 2007Scotts Agencies Powers up on ADVANTA FuelSYDNEY – 20th April, 2007 – Translogix International, specialist software solutions provider to the 3PL, logistics and fuel distribution markets, announced that Scott’s Agencies has selected ADVANTA Fuel, Translogix International’s fuel distribution solution to improve decision making and to cater for future business growth. Scott’s Agencies Pty Ltd is an independent fuel and lubricants wholesaler and distributor operating from the south east of South Australia. Scott’s Agencies services local and national fuel accounts through an extensive network of service stations, regional fuel depots and a large tanker transport fleet. Scott’s Petroleum, a business unit of Scott’s Agencies has been a client of Translogix International for over 8 years. The success of Translogix International’s implementation and on going long term support with Scott’s Petroleum played an important role in Scott’s Agencies’ decision to select and implement ADVANTA Fuel. Peter Mitchell, Scott’s Agencies’ administration manager explains. “It was logical for Scott’s Agencies to adopt the same system as Scott’s Petroleum to achieve consistency in reporting. By doing so, we can compare ‘apples to apples’ ” Translogix International is providing Scott’s Agencies with the ADVANTA Fuel software suite. ADVANTA Fuel comprises over 30 modules covering every aspect of Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Execution, Customer Relationship Management and eLogistics, all tailored for the fuel distribution industry. It caters for the special needs of the fuel distribution industry including; management of fuel inventory, catering for complex pricing, temperature corrections, interfaces to on board computers, truck stop fuel pumps and the common retail POS systems, and the management of distributor Fuel cards. Scott’s Agencies will be implementing a range of modules including: purchasing, debtors, sales analysis, sales order processing, inventory, general ledger, creditors, fixed assets, wholesale operations, retail interface, payroll and integrated report generator. Scott’s Agencies has been using an outdated petroleum IT system which can no longer handle the required functional scope, meet reporting needs, or cater for future growth. As Peter Mitchell noted “ADVANTA Fuel will provide a significant advance over our current system. It will cater for our complex pricing structures, the management of liquid-inventory, and the wide range of state based taxes. With ADVANTA Fuel not only will we have the information we need to manage our business, but we will also be able to develop and extend our reporting as business needs change.” Following the implementation of ADVANTA Fuel, Scott’s Agencies intend to consolidate all the reports from various systems into the ADVANTA Fuel software suite, and achieve consistent reporting throughout the Scott’s Agencies group of companies. Peter Mitchell added “Scott’s Agencies expect to reduce errors and make more effective decisions as a result of developing consistent and accurate reports which are generated by ADVANTA Fuel”. Scott’s Agencies already anticipate looking into further opportunities to utilise more functions within ADVANTA Fuel to improve customer service.
