PRESS RELEASE - 24 Aug 1998Translogix releases Contract Warehousing, version 6Translogix International has announced the release of version 6 of its Contract Warehousing suite of software packages. The Contract Warehousing suite caters for the needs of third party logistics organisations by providing comprehensive solutions for warehouse management, client billing and transport. In combination with Translogix's Distribution, Purchasing and Financial packages, Translogix provides a one stop shop for a complete Contract Distribution system. In developing Version 6, Translogix followed a full bottom-up review of internal data structures to cater for the special requirements of third-party logistics providers. This version also incorporates several extensions to the Warehouse Management module, and the introduction of a Client Billing module. Client Billing provides for the capture of transaction data; a rating system; and the raising of invoices for storage, handling and transport using a wide variety of billing methods. These new features have been added as a result of collaboration and feedback from Translogix's clients in diverse operations throughout Australia. A revised Transport Management module is under development and scheduled for release in early 1999. Translogix International, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, has 25 years of experience in logistics. The Contract Warehousing software complements Translogix's traditional offerings in totally integrated logistics systems that handle all facets of distribution, order processing, inventory management, sales analysis, purchasing, and financials. Steve Nelson, Translogix's Product Manager for Logistics systems, says that "this latest release of our Contract Warehousing software will provide the opportunity for existing and new clients to incorporate many new 'best practices' into their operations. Our clients are very excited about using these new features to increase their competitiveness. "There has already been significant demand for Contract Warehousing with half a dozen implementations already under way."
