Berger Software MAKING IT work for YOU |
Welcome to
our first email newsletter.
We will use
this email format to provide updates on developments within Berger that may be
of interest to you. The email format is very convenient as it is easy to
produce, circulate, easy to link to additional information, makes feedback
simple and it saves trees.
Please feel
free to circulate BergerNews to other people in your organisation or add names
to our circulation
list. Also, we welcome feedback on any/all topics. Simply send some feedback on
BergerNews.
Since we
cover several diverse market segments, some of the topics we cover will not
apply directly to you. Nevertheless you will gain some insights into the full
range of products and services we offer, and who knows where this may lead.
For some
time we have been aware that data quality is often the Achilles heel of CRM
systems. Poor data quality leads to low user confidence and decreased use. It
is a difficult problem since the data is accumulated by a diverse group of
users and it is quite volatile. So even if data quality is achieved it
immediately starts to degrade.
To assist
our CRM clients in managing the quality of their data we are introducing two
new services; Data Quality Audit and Data Quality Management. The Data Quality
Audit is designed to assess the quality of your data and the Data Quality
Management will assist you to rectify problems and prevent their recurrence.
The attached brochures provide further details on the assistance our specialist
team can offer. If you wish to address your data quality issues please contact
your account manager.
Effective 1 March 2002, we are extending the warranty on Fixed Quote work which will now carry a 30 day warranty from the date of signed Acceptance. This does not reduce the need for completing the normal Acceptance Test, however it will provide even greater confidence for those clients seeking to ensure their developments fit within defined budgets. Your quote will detail the reporting procedures for warranty work.
It’s been over 16 months since we last adjusted our rates to reflect changes in our costs. While we always strive to minimise increases, we need to maintain industry remuneration levels in order to attract and retain quality IT staff. Movements in the industry have been lower than in previous years, and this has allowed us to limit increases. The attached rate sheet comes into effect 1st March 2002 and still provides very competitive prices when compared against similar software suppliers.
Effective 1
January we formed a dedicated R&D team. In the past R&D projects were
carried out by client support teams and had to compete for priority with client
work. By forming a core team dedicated to R&D we expect to generate a
regular flow of new product developments.
The R&D
team is being drawn from the client support teams, so individuals will
gradually take on the new roles as current client projects are completed.
I am
pleased to be able to welcome new staff and congratulate staff on recent
promotions;
Stefan Dique has joined our Melbourne office to assist with the support of our
Warehousing and Distribution clients. Stefan has 10 years industry experience
and will be a valuable addition to the team.
Mark Power has joined our Melbourne office to assist with the support of our CRM
clients. Mark has several years experience using Visual FoxPro and various
Microsoft technologies.
Lars Moller has been promoted to the position of Team Leader of the Logistics Team

into semi-retirement and now works on a part-time basis. Lars has been with us for over 10 years and
has extensive experience in every aspect of Warehouse Management projects.
Helen Peterson has been promoted to the position of R&D Team Leader.
Helen has had extensive expertise in a broad range of projects, including a

the new R&D Team. Duncan has shown exceptional technical skills through a
